Is it possible to change the way we approach teen pregnancy prevention? How might we improve the ability of young people to avoid unplanned pregnancy? How can we make adolescent sexual and reproductive health a more approachable and enjoyable conversation for trusted adults and teens to have with each other?

Innovation Next, a project of Power to Decide, brings sex education into the 21st century through a unique accelerator program focused on technology-enabled ideas to prevent teen pregnancy.

Here's how:

  • Since 2015, we have funded 15 teams of innovators to solve complex challenges related to teen pregnancy prevention.
  • We've hosted immersive workshops and provided expert guidance and hands-on experiences in design thinking to prepare teams for the final pitches.
  • It doesn't end at the final pitch. We continue to provide guidance to our teams on how to further develop, market, and refine their ideas and products in order to catalyze innovation in teen pregnancy prevention.

We invite you to explore our website to learn more about the incredible work our innovation teams are advancing through Innovation Next. Once you're inspired and ready to tackle your own challenges using design thinking, reach out. We're here to help.

About the Project

About the Project

Design Thinking catalyzed new ideas for us and we believe it can make powerful change.

We hope that Innovation Next will result in a diffusion of Design Thinking throughout the field and, in turn, provoke better solutions for teen pregnancy prevention. We intend to use the Design Thinking framework to bring five technology innovations to reality (to a point where they can be used, often referred to as a "MVP,"" or "minimal viable product"). We will also bring ten other projects to the point where they can successfully pitch a refined, user-centered idea to other funders in order to build their MVPs.

These innovations, we hope, will have real impact on the target audiences and the field. Read more about the concept behind Innovation Next.
